Focus and Scope

iSys is a scientific journal devoted to the field of Information Systems.  Its mission is to promote and disseminate the state of art in the area in Brazil.  The journal's target public is composed of researchers, professors, students and professionals in the field of Information Systems. Submissions to iSys can be made at any time.  The journal welcomes the submission of scientific articles, and also extended versions of selected papers submitted to events related to Information Systems.  From 2015 onwards, the journal has also started to plan thematic special issues, as well as systematic literature review studies, papers describing systems and prototypes, innovation cases in Information Systems, as well as interviews with distinguished researchers and people from the Information Systems field. 

Peer Review Process

The review process is carried out with the support of experienced researchers in the field of Information Systems.  In general, each article is reviewed by two or three reviewers, considering criteria such as presentation quality, scientific contribution, data analysis quality and the relevance of the study to the community of Information Systems. Currently, each round of reviews takes between 30 to 60 days. Reviewers are assigned considering their scientific and technological production in Information Systems, as well as their experience in the field. 

Open Access Policy

This journal offers immediate free access to its content, following the principle to make access to scientific content free to all, allowing for a worldwide democratization of knowledge.  Hence, no submission or publication fee is charged from either readers or authors.

Authors' Rights

Authors who publish in this journal agree to the following terms: Authors retain the copyright and grant the journal the right to first publication, with the paper simultaneously licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution License - https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0 - CC BY 4.0 - which allows sharing of the work with an acknowledgment of authorship and initial publication in this journal. Authors are authorized to assume additional contracts separately, for the non-exclusive distribution of the version of the work published in this journal (eg, publishing in an institutional repository or as a book chapter), with acknowledgement of authorship and initial publication in this journal. Authors are allowed and encouraged to publish and distribute their work online (eg in institutional repositories or on their personal page) at any point before or during the editorial process, as this can generate productive changes, as well as increase impact and the citation of the published work (adding in this distribution the complete citation to the article in iSys).

Archival

This journal uses the LOCKSS system to create a distributed archival system among participating libraries and allows them to create permanent archives of the journal for its preservation and restoration.
