Abstract

This paper describes an ontology for leveraging value networks modeling. Currently, this modeling technique demands substantial tacit knowledge from a business analyst, which could be represented in a machine-reasonable language to enable knowledge management in an agile enterprise. The ontology is based on concepts of Multiple Agency Theory, Enterprise Ontology, Value Network Modeling and Speech Acts Theory, supporting semiautomatic configuration of value network models. The utility of the ontology is evaluated by means of three scenarios of real-world case studies. Case analysis was based on an observational case study protocol adapted from Design Science.
