Design and Evaluation of the Learner's Experience in Computing Systems

Abstract

Technologies, such as approaches, models, and techniques, have been proposed to support the Learner eXperience (LX) in the use of computational systems. However, it was noticed that these technologies have been developed for specific learning contexts, which makes their use in all contexts impossible. Therefore, this doctoral thesis proposal aims to investigate the design and evaluation of LX to allow a better learning experience in the use of computational systems. The method used is Design Science Research (DSR). Through Systematic Literature Mappings (MSL), the first proposal for an LX assessment technology was made, the Learner Experience Evaluation Model (LEEM). Moreover, gaps are being investigated in order to support the LX project, enabling both the design and the evaluation of the LX in the same proposal. Thus, it is expected to support LX holistically.
