Resumo

This article demonstrated that it is possible to overcome the challenges faced by institutions in teaching parallel and distributed computing, even when using smaller equipment with physical limitations in hardware resources. The methodology used was quantitative, descriptive, and exploratory, aiming to deepen the understanding of the topic. The cluster used consisted of eleven physically identical MxQ Pro 4K TV Boxes, and for the teaching-learning process of parallel and distributed programming, parallel computational algorithms from the "Tera" family were used. The results showed that parallelism is more efficient in solving complex problems, provided that communication between the nodes is fast and efficient.
