Abstract

This article analyzes the regulation of databases in Brazil, highlighting the challenges posed by the absence of specific legislation. With the growth of the data market, protecting rights over such information becomes essential. The research employs historical and comparative methods to examine the implications of lacking legal protection, considering the Copyright Law and international treaties, and compares the Brazilian scenario with the legislation of regions like the European Union and countries like the United States. The conclusion emphasizes the need for regulation to stimulate innovation and investments, balancing data access and the protection of rights.
