Resumo

Test automation is critical to ensuring software quality and security in financial institutions, particularly in public financial institutions, where the reliability of transactions is paramount. Historically, mobile test execution was constrained to Windows® servers due to technical dependencies on proprietary components. This paper presents a case study on the migration to a Linux-based architecture for mobile test automation, using Selenium Grid and Appium integrated with Jenkins CI/CD pipelines. The proposed solution enhances flexibility, scalability, and operational efficiency while maintaining strict security and compliance standards required in banking environments. The study describes the architectural decisions, implementation steps, and security adaptations undertaken to enable distributed and parallel test execution. Key outcomes include a 40% reduction in execution time, a 25% increase in functional test coverage, a shorter feedback cycle, and improved scalability. The findings provide evidence that with a structured approach and the right toolchain, robust and secure test automation is achievable even under the constraints of a highly regulated environment.
