The Proceedings of the 5th Brazilian Symposium on Systematic and Automated Software Testing (SAST 2020) bring the papers selected and presented in the city of Natal/RN, Brazil, from October 19 to 23, 2020, as part of the 11th Brazilian Congress on Software: Theory and Practice (CBSoft 2020). In this issue, the proceedings include 12 full papers. All the papers received at least three reviews. The event's program committee was coordinated by Vânia Neves (UFF) and Wilkerson Andrade (UFCG), who organized this volume.
