Abstract

Nowadays, in Brazil we are expecting an increase in the tourism sector, however there are few applications specific targeted to tourism in the country, such as Electronic Tourist Guide (ETG) developed to mobile devices. Specifically, ETG that considers the concepts of real world integration, from ubiquitous computing, are yet more rare. Considering this scenario, this article presents a proposal that explores the ubiquitous tourism. The proposed architecture, called UbiTour, uses context awareness, particularly location based services, along with profile and restrictions. This articles focus on the development of a UbiTour component allowing the users to obtain information using augmented reality. We evaluated the model in terms of usability using a prototype developed to the Caminhos de Pedra cultural itinerary, in Bento Gonçalves. The results show an acceptance of over 80%.
