Abstract

An important question in Smart Cities is how to instrument citizens and cities to promote the sensing of urban data about different aspects. In this work, we present a ubiquitous service-oriented architecture for urban sensing called UrboSenti. Our approach differs from other sensing solutions since it uses a service-oriented conceptual model, in the integration of traditional sensors with social networks and in availability of services to assist the development of new sensing applications. Moreover, our model encompass all sensing activities, ranging from the collection of data to generation of reports about events in the city
