O Fenômeno da Toxicidade em Jogos Digitais: Uma Caracterização da Comunidade Brasileira na Steam

Introdução: A Steam é uma das maiores plataformas de distribuição de jogos digitais do mundo, reunindo milhões de avaliações textuais, incluindo manifestações de toxicidade que escapam à moderação automática. Objetivo: Este trabalho caracteriza a toxicidade nas avaliações produzidas pela comunidade brasileira e as diferenças comportamentais entre usuários tóxicos e não tóxicos. Metodologia: Um conjunto de dados de mais de 600 mil avaliações em português foi analisado com dois modelos de detecção automática: Perspective API e Detoxify. Resultados: O discurso tóxico é marcado por vocabulário ofensivo e intensificação gráfica, mas frequentemente coexiste com recomendações positivas e descrições de gameplay, desafiando classificadores automáticos. Jogos competitivos concentram as maiores proporções de toxicidade, e usuários tóxicos são mais engajados na plataforma, mas não são punidos com probabilidade significativamente maior que os demais. Atenção! Este trabalho e os dados referenciados contêm exemplos de linguagem ofensiva e odiosa.
