YouTube Automatic Captions: Does this Artificial Intelligence Meet Users’ Needs?
Abstract
The popularization of social media in recent years has increased the number and range of content found on the internet, increasing the dissemination of information. Among these social media, YouTube stands out for the diversity of topics and languages used in its content. Thus, this paper aims to analyze the usability and user experience related to YouTube's content creation tool for automatic captioning through the application of the Cognitive Walkthrough, the AttrakDiff and a Field Study. The user experience was rated and corrections were proposed to the problems found. Furthermore, the results and methods applied were compared, seeking to evaluate their effectiveness and the relationship of user satisfaction and the problems found.
