Privacy in the 5G era: issues, LGPD principles, and social impacts

Abstract


With the arrival of 5G, in addition to the expansion and improvement of connectivity, new challenges related to the security of user information arise. In this context, this paper investigates the implications of 5G technology for privacy, examining its compliance with the principles established by the General Data Protection Law (LGPD). To this end, an ad hoc review was conducted to map and classify the main problems into three distinct categories. These categories were then analyzed to identify possible violations of the LGPD principles and their implications for different segments of society, especially those most vulnerable to data exposure.
