Abstract

Women represents approximately 15% of the Wikipedia contributors, and this disparity has potential to introduce biases into this encyclopedia content. In this work, we propose an analysis of gender bias existence on Wikipedia content comparing the text of biographies of men and women considering two dimensions: meta-data and language. Our results show that there are differences in the way that women are described in biographies when compared to men.
