The Island: Calculated Defense - Praticando Operações de Adição e Subtração

Abstract


Regarding math learning in Brazil, data from the latest Basic Education Assessment System (SAEB) indicated that a portion of elementary school students did not achieve the expected results. Educational games can be an alternative to this scenario, providing a playful and fun environment for learning. Therefore, this article presents the educational game titled "The Island: Calculated Defense", whose objective is to enable the practice of basic mathematical operations (addition and subtraction) and the development of Computational Thinking. The game, a Tower Defense genre, is targeted at 3rd-year elementary school students.
