Talent retention strategies in digital transformation and their impact on technology staff turnover

Abstract


The turnover of personnel in the Information Technology (IT) sector is a key challenge in digital transformation. This doctoral work investigates the relationship between retention strategies and turnover reasons in IT companies in Brazil. The hypothesis suggests a significant relationship between these strategies and the professionals’ decision to stay or leave. The methodology combines qualitative interviews and thematic analysis, along with a multi-agent system (MAS) simulation in GAMA to assess key factors in turnover. Preliminary findings show that, despite applied strategies, turnover remains a challenge, especially given high competitiveness and technological evolution. This study contributes to the development of more effective human resource management policies.
