The Proceedings of the 36th Thesis and Dissertation Contest (CTD 2023) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held in João Pessoa, PB, Brazil, from August 06-11, 2023, as part of the 43rd Congress of the Brazilian Computing Society (CSBC 2023), whose theme was "Opportunities and challenges of integrating the physical and digital worlds". In this issue, the proceedings include 06 Doctoral Thesis and 10 Master's Dissertations. These papers were selected through a single-blind peer review process, from a total of 43 Doctoral Thesis and 21 Master's Dissertations submitted, which implied an acceptance rate of 13.9% and 47.9%, respectively. The event's Chairs José Palazzo Moreira de Oliveira (UFRGS) and Isabela Gasparini (UDESC) organized this volume. The papers in this volume were submitted on 04/05/2023, accepted for publication on 05/20/2023, having the final version submitted on 05/28/2023.
