Using VLE in Blended Learning to Analyze Learning Paths and Educational Performance

Abstract

This paper presents a systematic review of the literature on models of learning trails based on the analysis of educational data from the interaction of students with VLE (virtual learning environments) in hybrid learning. The research was conducted on 4 national and 4 international research bases, 650 studies were returned, from which 13 were selected upon meeting the inclusion and exclusion criteria. The major contributions found are the ones related to learning trails models from students’ online behaviour and performance data. LMSs has turned out to be not only the most prevalent data collection tool, but also the main environment for enabling blended learning.
