The Proceedings of the 5th Dataset Showcase Workshop (DSW 2023) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held in Belo Horizonte, MG, Brazil, from September 25-29, 2023, as part of the 38th Brazilian Symposium on Databases (SBBD 2023). In this edition, the proceedings include 11 papers. These papers were selected through a peer-review, from a total of 18 papers submitted, which implied an acceptance rate of 61%. This volume was organized by Carina F. Dorneles (UFSC), Eric Araújo (UFLA), and Mirella M. Moro (UFMG), chairs of DSW 2023. The articles in this volume were submitted on 07/03/2023, accepted for publication on 08/01/2023, with the final version submitted on 08/07/2023.
