Developing Skills: Coverage of Soft Skills in Information System Curricula
Abstract
This work presents a master's proposal whose main objective is to understand how the development of soft skills (SS) necessary for future Information System (IS) professionals can be done by Higher Education Institutions (HEIs) through competence-based learning. An analysis of the representative curricula of the Bachelor of Information System (BIS) courses will serve to characterize the current scenario, highlighting the practices for the SS development. The study aims to relate the methodologies that best suit the market needs, to elaborate a competence model of SS development that is not linked to a specific course of the BIS and helps teachers and HEIs interested in adding professional development tools. The proposal seeks to integrate concepts usually associated with the Human Resources area with the teaching of Computing in order to expand alternative solutions.
