Development of a virtual assistant prototype to support freshmen at UFRB using machine learning

Abstract


This article presents the development of a virtual assistant prototype aimed at addressing the high demand for online information and the challenges that new students and visitors face in properly understanding directions on campus. The prototype uses Artificial Intelligence to provide geographic support, helping with the location of pavilions, laboratories, and departments. The assistant was developed using Dialogflow, Google Cloud, and Firebase, and implemented on web platforms and Telegram. A total of 1,606 training phrases and 689 test phrases were used, achieving an accuracy of 0.96.
