Transparent Algorithmic Management in a Passenger Transportation Application in Urban Centers

Abstract

This article investigates the impacts of digitalization on urban mobility, focusing on transportation apps that offer agility and personalization. However, these systems generate challenges related to the precariousness of work and algorithmic opacity in the remuneration and distribution of rides. The “Corridas” model is proposed, which integrates explainable artificial intelligence, transparent pricing, and modular architecture, prioritizing algorithmic fairness for drivers. The simulation of the model demonstrates its potential to mitigate costs for passengers and improve the prediction of drivers’ earnings. The results indicate the viability of fairer, more ethical urban mobility systems adapted to the Brazilian reality.
