Optimization of water use by small farmers

Abstract


In crops, water is a fundamental component for the development of the most varied crops. However, water is a limited resource, especially for small farmers, such as family farming. This paper presents an application, called SLIMCAP, developed to assist small producers in irrigating their plantations. With the tool, it is possible to calculate the average irrigation time, based on the data registered on the area where the system is working, in order to reduce the waste of water in the vegetable.
