Wordl School: streamlining English Language Teaching with gamification
Abstract
One of the most recognizable tools in language pedagogy and teaching communities is gamification, that is, the use of games that make the teaching / learning process easier, faster, and fun. This paper presents the project Wordl School, as part of the Institutional Program of Initiation in Technological Development and Innovation of the State University of Santa Cruz (PIBITI / UESC). The result is a school-themed game in which an apprentice becomes both student and player, facing challenges and earning rewards while developing his English language skills.
