Abstract

Due to the necessity of development in children with Austistic Spectrum Disorder (ASD) still in their infancy this paper portrays the steps of construction and the results of the development of 3D modeling to enable the creation of an inclusive toy, the Otto Robot. To implement the 3D design and printing we chose to use a playful and empathetic character for children with ASD, inspired by the animated character “The Minions”. The construction of Otto Robot is envisioned to provide therapists with new solutions to work with hyperfocus, promote shared attention, develop dynamic learning, and communication of children with autistic disorder.
