Female Inclusion in the IT Field: The Technological Girls Project in Cuiabá
Abstract
This paper reports on the experience of the Meninas Tecnológicas project, which promotes the inclusion of high school students from Cuiabá in Information Technology. Through practical classes in programming and computer organization, the project uses a hybrid and hands-on methodology to deconstruct gender stereotypes and encourage female participation in Engineering and Technology. The study highlights the low female representation in male-dominated sectors and the importance of inclusive education to reverse this reality. Initiatives such as Meninas Tecnológicas are essential to allow girls to explore technology without gender stigmas, contributing to the reduction of inequality in the area.
