Evaluation of player experience of games developed by undergraduate students in a Digital Games discipline

Abstract


The development of digital games has attracted the attention of undergraduate students in the field of Information Technology. This paper presents an instrument for evaluating player experience used in the Digital Games discipline of an undergraduate course. The evaluation employs a questionnaire based on the elementary tetrad game design model. Three games developed by the students were evaluated in terms of player experience. The study contributes to the evaluation methodology field by presenting an instrument for evaluating player experience, which can be applied in educational contexts of digital game development.
