Abstract

In this work, the behavior of the BER (Bit Error Rate) as a function of the SNR (Signal Noise Ratio) for MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) systems is analysed considering different spatial diversity schemes: Alamouti coding and maximum ratio combining (MRC). Furthermore, it is analysed in this article the operation of a MIMO communication system combining the two spatial diversity schemes. Through simulations, it is shown that the MRC technique provides lower error rates than the Alamouti coding. Furthermore, by combining the Alamouti code with the MRC method, it is possible to improve the BER of the system.
