Perceptions and Experiences on Teaching and Learning an HCI Course with a Focus on Collaborative Practices
Abstract
Introduction and Objective: This article presents an experience report obtained in the Human-Computer Interaction course offered for the Computer Science and Biomedical Informatics programs at the Federal University of Paraná. The course was organized around two practical projects: the usability, UX, and accessibility evaluation of a Libras translation app; and the specifcation, modeling, prototyping, and evaluation of an app for use by people with visual impairments. Methodology: Perceptions were gathered from students, the professor, and a student attending the course regarding the observed and lived experiences. Results: In this sense, it was possible to determine that individual motivation, collaborative work, and the use of diverse assessment methods and techniques were key factors in learning.
