HR Analytics and Data Mining for People Selection

Abstract


The Analytics area has grown significantly in scope and in a variety of applications. Organizations have been investing more and more in recent years in the area of Human Resources management. Among the main applications of Analytics, the HR Analytics area stands out, an approach that is based on data to make better decisions about people in an organization. Data mining stands out as one of the main means of obtaining results to make this practice feasible. Studies involving HR Analytics have grown in recent years, but few of these investigations carry out quantitative or experimental work. In this research, a data mining methodology is applied to optimize a people selection process in a Civil Society Organization. The results indicate that the evaluation metrics of this process can be improved and that the use of this data mining methodology can contribute to the optimization of the selection process.
