The Proceedings of the 1st Brazilian Symposium on Software Components, Architectures, and Reuse (SBCARS 2007) bring the papers selected and presented in the edition of the event held in Campinas/SP, from August 29-31, 2007. In this issue, the proceedings include 14 full papers. Each paper received three reviews, from a total of 42 full papers submitted, which implied an acceptance rate of 33,3%. The event's program committee was coordinated by Cecília Mary Fischer Rubira (UNICAMP), who organized this volume. The articles in this volume were submitted on 06/18/2007, accepted for publication on 07/18/2007, with the final version submitted on 07/30/2007.
