The Proceedings of the 12th Brazilian Symposium on Software Components, Architectures, and Reuse (SBCARS 2018) bring the papers selected and presented in the city of São Carlos/SP, Brazil, from September 17 to 21, 2018, as part of the 9th Brazilian Congress on Software: Theory and Practice (CBSoft 2018). In this issue, the proceedings include 11 full papers. All the papers received at least three reviews. The event's program committee was coordinated by Ingrid Nunes (UFRGS), who organized this volume. The articles in this volume were submitted on 07/06/2018, and accepted for publication on 08/06/2018, with the final version submitted on 08/10/2018.
