Registro Ubíquo de Controle Acadêmico: Localização em Ambiente Interno utilizando Ciclo de Trabalho Dinâmico

Abstract


In this paper, we propose a ubiquitous system capable of performing automatic enrollment for academic student attendance. The proposed solution, named OnBee, integrates access and location. Access control is done by RFID 125 kHz and the location by IEEE 802:15:4. The main technological challenge of the proposed solution is the definition of the system duty cycle. Using the proposed dynamic duty cycle, we have reached a lifetime of more than 8 years and a cost about R$25.00 per student card. Experimental results showed that in just 15 minutes in class room, 96% of the attendance record is achieved and also that, in the worst case, it is demanded 60 minutes for all records are successfully registered.
