Platform for Collecting Data from Electric Vehicles Charging Stations: Prototyping in a Real Test Bench
Abstract
Electric vehicles are a promising option to contribute to energy diversification and the goal of reducing greenhouse gas emissions. However, as the market grows, the demand for charging stations increases, which requires a new structure to manage them. Internet of Things (IoT) technologies stand out as one of the most prominent strategies, as electric stations become smart, connected, and easily accessible for remote support and maintenance. In this context, this paper proposes a real test bench carried out at the Federal University of Pará, containing a charging station and an electric vehicle, communicating through message exchange with a central system based on the OCPP protocol. The data from these transactions are sent to DOJOT, a middleware IoT that makes it possible to store, process, and integrate the information collected with various sensors.
