Evaluation of the Player Experience on Hybrid Games Using HybridGamePX

Abstract

Hybrid games combine physical or analog components with digital applications. This characteristic creates new challenges for evaluating the player's experience in this type of game. The literature of the areas has investigated the uses of hybrid games and has proposed new perspectives to the player evaluation in the context of hybrid games. This work presents the evaluation of commercial hybrid games using observation and interviews to identify specific characteristics of experience evaluation in these games. As results, the work presents the evaluation of games and presents considerations that game designers of hybrid games can use in their projects and playtests.
