Overview of the electronic games market: a case study of job vacancies

Abstract

Analyzing and extracting information from job advertisements on online platforms has become an area of growing interest, allowing for a better understanding of the job market dynamics. Although many studies focus on specific sectors, there is a gap in the analysis of the electronic games industry. This study aims to fill this gap through a detailed analysis of the job market in this sector, specifically in terms of salary ranges, experience, skills, and technologies most in demand. To this end, data was collected from various specific platforms for job vacancies in games, such as gamasutra, skillshot, and gamejobs. A total of 572 ads were analyzed using text-mining techniques. The results obtained have the potential to guide candidates and recruiters, showing the most critical aspects of the hiring process and supporting decision-making.
