Abstract

In recent years, mobile gaming industry has been growing constantly. From casual users to the most competitive ones, this platform's consumers are becoming more engaged with the diverse experiences that mobile games can offer. Keeping a player loyal to your product is not an easy task for the developers to accomplish. In addition to providing positive experiences, which usually imply a fun feeling, developers should be concerned with equity between the choices and challenges offered to the player, for example, characters, items, enemies, and others. So, it's common for developers to explore balancing techniques in games to deliver more enriching and challenging gamer experiences. In this context, this work reports a comparative case study between the balancing premises proposed by the game designers and the numerical results observed in a dataset of battle results from the game Clash Royale. Knowledge in the areas of statistics and game design were used to analyze data corresponding to competitive aspects.
