Abstract

Introduction: The social and health inequities that have historically affected indigenous peoples, as evidenced by epidemiological studies, reveal the urgency of structural transformations in the training of SUS professionals and in continuing education actions. It is necessary to break with colonial practices and recognize, in the health field, indigenous ancestral knowledge and practices as legitimate sources of care and healing. Objective: To report the experience of developing the educational RPG game OKREN – A Guide to Ancestral Healing, conceived as a pedagogical tool aimed at health training with an intercultural focus. Stages: The game creation process was carried out in four stages: (1) selection of thematic content, with emphasis on medicinal plants from the Caatinga; (2) construction of the narrative, integrating symbolic and cultural elements of indigenous peoples; (3) development of the prototype, considering playful, aesthetic and pedagogical aspects; and (4) presentation to the research group, for critical evaluation and dialogic listening. The game was developed in collaboration with indigenous students from the Kariri-Xocó, Kaimbé and Tuxá ethnic groups, respecting and incorporating their contributions. Expected Results: The prototype has been completed and the next steps include a more in-depth ethnobotanical survey of medicinal species used in the communities, as well as validation of the game with traditional leaders (Chiefs and Shamans), indigenous people in their territories and undergraduate health students. OKREN emerges as a training tool that is sensitive to cultural diversity, proposing an encounter between knowledge, where the pedagogy of the game becomes a territory of healing and dialogue between worlds.
