Exploring Virtual Tours in Museums of Pernambuco: Impact, Challenges, and Visitor Experience

Abstract


This study investigates the adoption and impact of virtual tours in museums in Pernambuco, highlighting their role in improving visibility and visitor engagement. By mapping the current state of virtual tours and assessing user experiences, the research identifies both the benefits and challenges associated with these technologies. The findings indicate that virtual tours can increase audience reach and educational opportunities, despite technical and implementation difficulties. The study emphasizes the need for strategic planning to maximize positive impacts and integrate virtual tours as part of a broader modernization and democratization strategy for museums.
