Computers Make Art: A Case Study on the Social Potential of NFTs through Educational Programs
Abstract
This article presents a case study on the social potential of NFTs (non-fungible tokens) through educational programs in Brazil. The research investigates how NFTs can be used as tools for digital inclusion and socio-environmental awareness, especially in marginalized communities. The study analyzes the scenario of NFTs in the Brazilian artistic and cultural context, identifies the basic conditions necessary for the creation and commercialization of NFTs, and explores educational approaches to promote the understanding and use of these technologies. Using a combination of case study and exploratory research, interviews, workshops, and analyses of educational initiatives were conducted. The development of educational material and the implementation of practical classes were central elements of the research, aiming to empower participants in the use of NFTs and Web 3.0 technologies. The results indicate that educational programs on NFTs can foster interest and practical understanding of the technology, facilitating digital inclusion and active participation of marginalized groups. This study contributes to the understanding of the role of NFTs as social tools, highlighting the importance of continuing to develop and expand educational programs to maximize the social and cultural impact of NFTs.
