The Proceedings of the 8th Workshop on Software Visualization, Evolution and Maintenance (VEM 2020) bring the papers selected and presented in the online edition of the event on October 19, 2020, co-located with the 11th Brazilian Conference on Software: Theory and Practice (CBSoft 2020). In this issue, the proceedings include 8 full papers. These papers were selected through a double-blind review process from a total of 11 papers submitted, which implied an acceptance rate of 72,7%. The workshop's Program Committee was coordinated by Rafael Durelli (UFLA) and Lincoln Rocha (UFC) and this volume was organized by Everton Cavalcante (UFRN). The papers in this volume were submitted on August 23, 2020, and accepted for publication on September 12, 2020, with the camera-ready version submitted on September 16, 2020.
