Abstract

Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT) can be very useful for the processing of personal data in accordance with the Brazilian Data Protection Law (LGPD), due to characteristics such as transparency and security. However, other characteristics such as immutability and distributed character can make this task difficult. Thus, this paper analyzes the challenges of reconciling DLT and data processing in accordance with the LGPD. As an object of analysis, the Datavalid project of SERPRO - Federal Data Processing Service, hired by Uber, was used in a hypothetical scenario in which data processing was performed using the Hyperledger Fabric.
