Resumo

The Internet of Multisensory, Multimedia, and Musical Things (Io3MT) is defined as a networked ecosystem that integrates multisensory data, multimedia content, and musical information in an interchangeable and non-hierarchical manner, enabling globally accessible applications and services. This thesis presents the first reference model dedicated to Io3MT, specifying its architecture, data types, networking requirements, and implementation tools, with the aim of guiding researchers, artists, designers, and industry practioners in the practical development of environments based on this paradigm. The proposal was validated through two proof-of-concept implementations, with experiments focused on network performance and Quality of Experience (QoE) assessment. The results confirm the technical feasibility of the model and highlight its aesthetic and expressive potential to support interactive, creative, and multisensory experiences.
