Resumo

The relationship between musical practice, health, and well-being has attracted growing attention within the research community. In this context, emerging paradigms such as the Musical Metaverse (MM) and the Internet of Multisensory, Multimedia, and Musical Things (Io3MT) offer new opportunities for investigating the role of interactive technologies in these domains. Building upon these concepts, this position paper introduces PhysioPiano, an immersive and interactive musical platform conceived to support applications related to health and well-being, while also addressing educational and artistic scenarios. The platform features a piano implemented in Virtual Reality (VR), allowing users to interact through hand tracking combined with haptic feedback delivered by a commercially available device. Through the integration of multisensory stimuli into a single multimodal environment, PhysioPiano is intended to encourage sensorimotor activity, cognitive engagement, creativity, relaxation, and musical expression. The platform may also contribute to therapeutic and rehabilitation scenarios by enabling interactive experiences that integrate musical practice, immersion, and multisensory feedback. Overall, this work aims to contribute to the growing research intersection between music, Virtual Reality, health, and well-being.
