Resumo

Semantic Web Rule Language (SWRL) is a rule language that enables rules to be conbined with Web Ontology Language (OWL) to provide even more expressitivity to them. However, as rule when trying to control them. A large rule set becomes difficult to understand and prone to errors. To resolve this problem, techniques and tool are needed to organize, view and create rules set in SWRL. This paper presents a set of solutions to improve the use and management of SWRL rules, wich include the development of visual representation and some techniques that resulted in a visualization and composition rule tools. As a case study we used a rule set on biomedical autism (Autism Phenologue Rules) wich illustrate a large and complex SWRL rule set. From this study, a new visual representation specific to these rules was developed, allowing a medical expert, without much computer knowlege, can more easily manage the rules.
