Abstract

This paper describes the architecture of a text and image retrieval distributed system for the EPCT digital library. The system was designed to run on commodity hardware clusters, solving scalability and high availability problems of the current version of the system. It shows also some technologies that will be used. Finally, some preliminary tests demonstrate the effciency of the indexing architecture.
