DiGaE: a distributed environment for meetings

Resumo

This article presents a distributed environment for meetings { DiGaE (Distributed Gathering Environment), which uses the session concept to allow remote users to communicate synchronously using electronic ink, video, audio and text messages tools. The DiGaE environment was developed in the context of a project to support e-learning, and includes options for settings and initialization of collaborative work sessions that use personal computers or an instrumented room (for example, with a video camera and electronic board).
