Exploring the Potential of Generative AI in Mathematics Education: A Proposal for Digital Educational Material

Abstract

This paper presents a proposal for a Digital Educational Material (DEM) titled "Mathematics with AI", aimed at training mathematics teachers in the use of Generative AIs for teaching. The proposed DEM includes both theoretical and practical foundations on available AI technologies, examples of activities for different educational levels, and addresses ethical issues concerning the use of AI in the classroom. The conclusion emphasizes the importance of teacher training for the effective use of these technologies, while also suggesting future work to overcome the identified technical and ethical challenges.
