Art, Death and Interactivity: Digital Works of Art that Transport the Theme of Death to the Field of Information Technologies
Abstract
In contemporary times, all sectors of society mix with virtual space and technologies. Likewise, art has always incorporated the technologies of its time into its proposals, especially digital media today. In this process, death, its rites, mourning, pain and other related cultural aspects also gain a new shade in digital cultures. This exploratory research aims to map and understand works of digital art that deal with death, identifying and describing them. This study allowed us to notice the main approaches and technologies used in works of digital art related to death, as well as the ways of representing this theme in digital art.
