Educational Guidance System on Fake News
Abstract
In this paper, an educational system, whose purpose is to help users to recognize fake news, will be discussed. The product has a module that highlights information that can help users to analyze the veracity of a news from its link. In addition, it contains a training module, that helps to exercise the ability of identifying fake news. The design of these modules is theoretically based on Lateral Reading and the Inoculation Theory, respectively. The work will also detail the modeling process and implementation aspects. Finally, the results achieved through the evaluation with 26 users point to a positive acceptance of the software, mainly in features like efficiency and attractiveness.
