Machine learning algorithm for generating rules associating adaptive behavior profiles with neurodevelopmental disorders
Abstract
Neurodevelopmental disorders are clinical conditions that begin in childhood and cause impairments in adaptive behavior in different areas throughout the individual's life. Early identification of these losses is essential for better social, family and educational integration of children. In this scenario, this research presents the use of a machine learning algorithm to discover rules, Apriori, based on data from the assessment of the adaptive behavior of children and adolescents using the Adaptive Behavior Assessment System (ABAS-3) instrument. The results showed rules that associate neurodevelopmental disorders with lower scores on the instrument items, indicating those with higher correlations with the symptoms of disorders.References
